Job (Jacobus) van der Meer was born in 1980 in the Netherlands. He grew up in a village near the town of Amersfoort. His interest in design, form and figures led to a study of multimedia design. After working as a graphic designer for a couple of years, Job van der Meer’s growing interest in the social and societal circumstances made him take up a study in the social science at the University of Amsterdam which he finished in 2010. Currently he lives and works in Berlin, Germany. He is also founder of Makalit, a Berlin based design label / webshop for small batch produced furniture and objects.
